Development of transport costs in 2017

.

Valued customers and partner companies,

The transport business, and the transport market, are once again confronted with a range of cost-driving factors which have made price adjustments unavoidable starting 1 January 2017.

In Switzerland we fill face a government increase in the performance-based fee on heavy goods vehicles (LSVA). The 10% discount that formerly applied to the EURO 6 tariff class will be discontinued. The reclassification of EURO standards 3, 4 and 5 into the next most expensive fee categories and the elimination of the discount for vehicles that conform to the EURO 6 standard, will increase the LSVA by up to 18 percent. Other reasons for the spike in costs are daily congestion, lower productivity due to increasing congestion, obstacles to vehicle planning, and rising personnel costs.

All told, these factors have led to a 4 to 5% increase in transport costs for breakbulk, partial, and full loads. We hope you understand that we cannot fully assume these additional costs and that we have to pass part of them on. Of course, we are available to offer additional details and provide further information.
We thank you for your pleasant collaboration and the trust you have placed in us.
